North County Church of Christ began a ministry in 1987 to reach out to the Spanish speaking community. Our purpose is to provide an environment in which all peoples in our community will be able to seek and find God in their life. The current demographics in Escondido show that Spanish is spoken in approximately 50% of homes. The new immigrant population has many needs, including spiritual, language learning, medical care, tutoring for their children, and family counseling. We want to encourage these families in a holistic way as they transition to a new country and language.

We hold Spanish language Sunday morning worship and praise assembly with Bible-focused preaching. We provide adult classes in Spanish at the same time as the children preschool through college age attend classes in English. Wednesday night is also a time to come together, study and refocus during the week.

We believe in being one church in which two (or more) languages are spoken. Though our people are very diverse in their backgrounds, God has joined us together in one body through Jesus Christ. We intentionally promote unity, humility, and serving one another in love.

We have small groups called Life Groups (Grupos de Vida) meeting at various homes through the week for more intimate study, prayer and support times. We are continually training and developing new leaders in this area as it is the basis of communication, growth and service in our congregation. "Friendspeak" is a program that provides the opportunity to practice English conversation one-on-one, and can also be a bridge between the English and Spanish speakers.

Our Spanish speaking ministers are Manuel Magos and Raye Kramar. The Spanish ministry has been in existence over 20 years and serves the community in numerous ways such as: practice in conversational English, teaching parenting skills, spiritually based family and personal counseling, helping people become responsible, productive members of our community It is an exciting ministry in which God is causing significant growth.
