I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. John 8:12
The Children’s Ministry seeks to nurture boys and girls who are committed to Jesus Christ and are growing daily in love, knowledge, and service. To this end, age appropriate Bible classes, worship opportunities, and spiritual formation activities are provided throughout the year for both children and their parents. In this fun and encouraging atmosphere, kid’s thrive as they grow in their faith.
Our Purpose:
The Children’s Ministry at North County Church of Christ is a place where we want parents to know that we value their family and want to walk alongside them to show their children that:
• God loves them
• The bible is the true Word of God
• Jesus is our Lord and Savior
• Church is fun and full of people who love them
Our Programs:
Our Policies
We want church to always be a safe and friendly place. Therefore, the following precautionary measures are taken to ensure safety for our children and volunteers.
Volunteer Policies- We screen all volunteers who work directly with children. The screening involves an interview, reference checks and a criminal background investigation.
Security Check-In Procedure- All children birth through 5th grade use the electronic security system for check-in to classes or the nursery. The system is very easy to use and there are three attended Kiosk stations located under the Children’s Ministry tent near the entrance or inside the Children’s Ministry Wing on extremely cold or hot days. Parents will check-in their children at one of the Kiosk stations, receive parent and child name labels and then deliver their children to class. Visitors are invited to checked-in at any of the Kiosk stations. Parents pick up their children at the end of class and match the parent/child label with the classroom teacher’s roster and sign them out. Parents need to pick up their children no later than 10 minutes after the end of class. Only adults 18 years or older may check in or pick up children.
Health Policies
We want to provide a healthy environment for our children, therefore, we have specific guidelines for parents to follow to assess their child’s health before bringing them to church. Parents should keep their children at home if they observe any of the following symptoms of illness in the 24 hours prior to attending:
-Fever (99.0) or elevated temperature
-Excessive coughing
-Vomiting
-Diarrhea
-Discharge in or around the eyes
-Questionable rash
-Green or yellow runny nose
-Any communicable disease
A child that is being treated with an antibiotic should have received treatment for a minimum of 24 hours before coming to church. All care givers and teachers should follow the same guidelines.
