The North County Church of Christ began a ministry in 1987 to reach the Spanish speaking community for Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to preach the good news of Jesus to all peoples in our community so that they might confess Him as Lord to the glory of God. Currently, Latinos comprise a growing 45% of the residents of Escondido. Most are first or second generation immigrants having arrived from Mexico, Central or South America with many dreams for themselves and their families. Our goal with Spanish speaking people is to help them reinvent their dream so that serving God becomes the primary driving force of their lives. We do this through English language practice, assistance with employment opportunities, family counseling, and of course, spiritual formation.
Each Sunday NCCC offers worship assemblies in Spanish. We also provide adult Bible classes in Spanish. Simultaneously, all the children of the congregation, preschool through college age, attend Bible classes in English.
NCCC also offers a Wednesday night program in Spanish for Spanish-speaking adults to study God’s word, pray, and encourage one another, while the Children’s Ministry is fully integrated with classes for all children taught in English.
As opposed to being two churches in one location, NCCC believes in being one church in which two (or more) languages are spoken. Both the Spanish and English speaking ministries are a testament to our commitment to unity and global evangelism. Though we are a diverse people, God has joined us together as one Body through Jesus Christ.
We have small groups called Life Groups (Grupos de Vida) meeting at various homes through the week for more intimate study, prayer and support. Life Groups provide the opportunity for transparent, meaningful relationships in which personal growth can occur. Life Groups also serve as the training ground for the cultivation of new leadership in the church.
Our Spanish-speaking ministers are Manuel Magos and Raye Kramar. You may contact them by email @ manuel.magos@nccofc.org or raye.kramar@nccofc.org
